We are once again compiling #TheSeason recaps. Teams will be selected randomly until completion. We won’t always break the girls out into separate attachments. It will depend on the size of the girls’ team.

Boys’ duals record: 19-4.

Boys’ season in a nutshell:

  • 2nd at Southern Paint Scuffle, December 3 (7 teams).
  • 2nd at Deltona Duals, December 10 (6 teams).
  • 1st at St Johns Super 8 Duals, December 17 (8 teams).
  • 2nd at 3A-District 1 Duals, January 4 (7 teams participated).
  • Quarterfinalist at 3A-Region 1 Duals, January 12 (8 teams qualified).
  • 1st at Wolfpack Challenge, January 14 (14 teams).
  • 8th at 37th Flagler Rotary, January 27-28 (30 teams).
  • 1st at 3A-District 1 IBT, February 17 (8 teams).
  • 10th at 3A-Region 1 IBT, February 24-25 (31 teams).
  • T-66th at 3A State IBT, March 2-4 (80 teams).

Girls’ season in a nutshell:

  • T-23rd at Own The Ocean, December 10 (25 teams).
  • Ponte Vedra Quad, January 11 (4 teams).
  • 12th at Lady Pirate Classic, January 14 (17 teams).
  • 12th at District 3, February 8 (13 teams).

Projected boys key returners (15+ matches or post-season experience this past season) for 2023-24 (with year in school as of next season): Santiago Carrion (sophomore, 23-17 at 113, District 1 runnerup, Region 1 4th, 0-2 at 3A state); Justin Umali (junior, 32-5 at 120, District 1 champ, 1-2 at Region 1); Stephan Carrion (junior, 25-10 at 126, District 1 runnerup, 0-2 at Region 1); Aaron Zwetschkenbaum (senior, 7-13 at 132, District 1 6th); Larry Mims (sophomore, 19-18 at 145, District 1 runnerup, 0-2 at Region 1); Xavier Grimm (junior, 12-17 at 160, District 1 4th, 1-2 at Region 1); Colton Leavell (junior, 25-10 at 170, District 1 runnerup, 1-2 at Region 1); Jonathan Morrison (junior, 8-11 at 170/182, did not compete in FHSAA IBT series); Tristen Darling (senior, 25-14 at 182, District 1 4th, 1 match from 3A state); Joseph Bartels (senior, 7-9 at 195, District 1 6th); Cole Anderson (junior, 25-12 at 285, District 1 runnerup, 1-2 at Region 1).

Projected losses (15+ reported matches or post-season experience this past season) via graduation unless otherwise noted: Alexavier Panganiban (33-7 at 106, District 1 champ, Region 1 champ, 0-2 at 3A state); Anjel Balkenbush (9-5 at 135, District 3 6th); Conner Wright (32-7 at 138, District 1 champ, 1 match from 3A state); Chihaya Cook (18-8 at 152, District 1 3rd, 0-2 at Region 1); Eli Pagan (16-7 at 220, District 1 runnerup, 0-2 at Region 1).
